Burning Permits

Burning permits are required for burn barrels and all outdoor burning except campfires used for cooking or warming.
NO BURNING OF PLASTICS OR FOAM RECYCLABLES.

Large fires should be reported prior to burning to the non-emergency number at the Sherriff's Dept. (608-742-4166). Failure to comply with burning regulations can result in the issuance of a citation and the cost of suppression if a wildfire results.

Permits can be obtained at these locations: AC Auto Body, Pardeeville Fire Station and the DNR Poynette Station. Permits can also be obtained online at dnr.wi.gov/burningpermits or by calling 1-888-WIS-BURN.
